| Notes for Clifford Elias & Luella (Family) |
Email from Betty Coleman 30 Jan 2000
The way I heard the story was:
Grandpa Clifford was living with his Dad and his wife Irene. Great Grandma
Irene was a wonderful lady, but things were hectic at their house, new babies
and Great Grandpa Clawson's drinking. Great Grandma Pearl was doing her
thing. There was this very nice couple that Grandpa Clifford new. The
Krohn's had meals on time, the house was clean and a daughter that was kind
of shy and plain. Grandpa Clifford felt sorry for this young girl, Luella and
he liked her family, so he spent a lot of time at their house. Well, Luella
came to Clifford and said she was P. G. Grandpa Clifford felt sorry for her
and married her. Before the month was out Clifford new she had her monthly
thing, so he jump a freight train and left town. He went to stay with his
cousins Kenneth and Earl Evans. I think they may have been in Lansing or
Detroit. The day Grandpa Clifford left town was the same day the Great
Grandma Pearl married Great Grandpa Val. Well, needless to say everyone was
beside them selves because know one new where Cliffy was. By this time
Cliffy may have made it to Chicago and he really wanted to go home. Finely
Cliffy contacted his sister Lucille and she wired him money to come home :-)
I don't thing that Luella ever married again :-( |
